How to Use Smart Chips in Google Docs?

There are two easy ways to insert smart chips in Google Docs

Method 1: Using the Insert Option

Step 1

Bring the cursor to where you want the smart chip to be placed.

Step 2

From the Insert tab, click on the Smart Chips option. 

Step 3

A pop-out menu appears on the screen. It contains various forms of smart chips like people, events, files, places, etc.

Step 4

Choose the needed option from the list. Now, the chosen smart chips appear in the selected space. 

Method 2: Using the @ Symbol

Step 1

Open the concerned document and place the cursor on where you want the smart chips to be.

Step 2

Type @. A drop-down menu appears on the screen. The drop-down menu consists of all the information you have arranged in the computer under files, events, people, calendar, etc.

Step 3

If you want to check out more options than what is shown on the drop-down menu, you can click on the right arrow present in the window.

Step 4

Click and select the correct item when it appears on the screen and enter. Now the selected item appears on the document as a smart chip.

How to Remove a Smart Chip from Google Docs?

You can remove a smart chip from a Google Doc by deleting or erasing the word or sentence that it appears with.
