How to Change Name on Google Meet?

Earlier, Google had set in place certain limitations regarding the number of times a user can change their display name on Google Meet. But as of now, no such restrictions exist. Now, Google Meet users can change their display name however they want.

There are many reasons for changing the Google Meet display name. The user may need to let another person use the account. Or, the user might be changing their second name or even the first name. It is also possible that the user, due to privacy reasons, is in requirement of a name change.

Whatever the reason may be, there are some easy steps to change the name on Google Meet.

How to Change Name on Google Meet – Web Browser

Step 1

Sign in to the Google Account page.

Step 2

Click on the Personal Info option. 

Step 3

From the many options that appear, click on the Name option to reveal more options.

Step 4

A small window to enter new first and last names appears on the screen.

Step 5

Enter the new first name and last name in the slots provided. 

Step 6

Click the Save option to confirm the changed name.

How to Change Name on Google Meet – Android Device

Step 1

Go to the Settings section of the Android device.

Step 2

From the Apps option, choose Google.

Step 3

Click the Manage Your Google Account option.

Step 4

From the menu that appears, click on the Personal Info option.

Step 5

Go to the Basic Info section.

Step 6

Tap the Name option.

Step 7

On the slots that appear, enter the new first name and last name.

Step 8

Click the Save option to confirm the new first name and last name.


In iOS devices, changing the name on Google Meet is also possible. For that, the user must go to the Gmail app on the phone and the Settings option. From the Settings option, the user has to choose the Manage your Google Account option to change the name on Google Meet.
