Google Meet users are able to blur their meeting background. The blur option is a part of the many background effects available on the platform.
There are many reasons why people use a blur effect in the Google Meet background. The first one is convenience. With a blurred background, the users need not worry about keeping everything proper in the background.
The second reason is strictly professional. A blurred background helps the other participants not get distracted by the background. The focus and attention will only be towards the participant, not the background.
A blurred background also helps people be less conscious of their surroundings. People with limited financial and social opportunities may feel conscious of presenting their surroundings to unknown people. A blurred background will give them much-needed privacy.
